Damned credit rating and electoral register

Hi, looking for advice from anyone that has experienced similar or knows how to rectify this….

i have always had an impeccable credit rating which I’m obviously proud about but recently it’s taken a nose dive through no fault of my own and we have to remortgage soon.

im only just hitting the ‘good’ level now.

the only things wrong with my score…

  1. I don’t utilise enough credit (because we’ve pretty much paid off the mortgage which was possible with a health insurance payout - cancer) and I don’t have a credit card as I’ve never liked them. I now CANT get one because of the cancer.

  2. this is the one I’m struggling with

not registered on electoral roll. We moved almost 2 years ago and since myself and partner have repeatedly submitted the forms but no change
i emailed the council team and apparently myself and my partner have been registered since may last year! But how do we get our credit check thingy updated? We looked on multiple different credit checking systems and all state that we aren’t registered and therefore credit score nosedives

how do we resolve this issue? Who do we contact?

thanks in advance 🙂

Go direct to the credit reference companies (Experian, Equifax etc) and report that your file is inaccurate. They should have instructions on their websites about how to do this.
