I’m not sure what I should be doing.
I was a carer on carers allowance until 2022. Since then I haven’t worked due to chronic and debilitating migraine and we have managed on dh wage only.

i realise that I will now have a gap in my national insurance and I could’ve applied for ESA in 2022 which would have given me national insurance credits. I think ??

Now I won’t be eligible for ESA as I haven’t paid national insurance for 4 years ?

i’m crap at all this stuff and I don't know what my best options are really. I thought ESA was only for someone looking for work which I haven’t been.
can anyone in the know advise me ?

Look into making an ESA credits only claim. And might you also qualify for PIP?

Right ok thank you. Had not heard of that. Yes, I am wondering if I’d qualify for pip. I find it very daunting though.
