Returning an item purchased on finance.

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a piece of furniture on finance at 0% interest, and to be paid in installments over 24 months. I do have the money to pay for it upfront but decided to do it this way because it eases the financial burden to pay it all in one go. I also paid a 10% deposit upfront.

The item arrived today and the colour looks drastically different from the website. I've emailed the company to try and arrange a refund but suspect I won't hear back until Monday.

It's my first time buying anything on finance and now I'm worried it'll be a lot of hassle arranging a return and getting a refund given I've taken out a loan agreement for the purchase.

Anyone done this before and was it hassle free and straight forward?

You have a cooling off period to cancel finance i think its 14 days no quibble. You also come under distance selling laws which you can look up online. Im pretty sure thats also return without having to provide a reason but, not arriving as expected (such as colour discrepancy) when not buying in person is fine
