Ogi internet want to double fee!

My introductory offer of £30 a month for 900mbps is over. They want £75 a month now or I could drop down to 200mbps to remain at a similar cost per month. We were having big issues with BT so don’t want to go back to them and would ideally like to stay with Ogi but negotiate speed and cost.

do I need 900mbps?? Would 200 suffice?? I only use it to stream, send a few emails from home or edit work files via google drive at home. On the odd occasion, I might be streaming something on my device whilst my partner is watching something on iPlayer on the tv.

any advice on best internet speeds for our needs? Then I can go back and negotiate.

When Ogi fitted ours the engineer warned us this would happen and said to phone up and tell them we want to cancel and they’ll keep the price at £30.

There are dozens of ISPs. Are you stuck with Ogi as they provided the FTTP wiring?

Well ours is 100 to 150 MBps and its absolutely fine, so Id expect 200 to be more than sufficient.

Unless you hop from contract to contract or manage to get your existing supplier to offer a retention deal you will pay more, that's how it works unfortunately.
