Credit card with low limit

I’m in an ok financial position. Use a couple of credit cards ( one is mainly for hols) that I clear each month. Both have a limit of £4k
Ds has a credit card with a low limit say £200 which he uses if he is going out drinking or to somewhere he is more likely to be scammed ( eg seasonal market ) That way if his card is stolen he knows he will only be down a max of £200
I can see this makes sense, but I am concerned that this might impact my credit score adversely

what does the MN hive mind think ?

Why would this impact your score?

Just from random googling! But I think this seems to maybe just be the case when someone only has one credit card

If it’s his credit card in his name I can’t see how it would affect you at all.

What has DS s credit card got to do with your score?

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 04/11/2025 14:24

Do you have a financial association with your son? If so, is he managing the credit account well?

dementedpixie · 04/11/2025 14:27

Do you mean youre considering having a credit card with a low limit too?

wizzler · 04/11/2025 14:45

Sorry I meant I was considering the same approach . It seems quite a sensible thing to do ..
