Is Anyone Doing The Monzo 1p Challenge?

Just wondering if anyone here is doing the Monzo 1p Challenge? I'm on day 291 and finding it tough going. Getting to day 365 at this time of year is going to be a struggle!

I will use mine to pay towards a holiday we are booking in Jan. DH has one too as does DD and her boyfriend.

I started but had to stop after around £45 - but I can’t for the life of me find out how to move this back to my normal account?? I’ve googled and clicked on every button going but I can’t seem to do it - has anyone else had this problem?

when I click on my challenge pot the option to withdraw is below along with pause or ending the challenge. Does the app need an update?

I know this is supposed to be a bit of fun, but beyond that it seems to set people up to fail because the majority of the money is saved within the last few weeks when people will be busy spending on Christmas, so most will give up before they've saved much.

It's also incredibly faffy compared with just setting up a DD for £30 a month or whatever it averages out at across the year. You'd get more interest that way too as you have more money in the account for longer. Plus if anyone is receiving UC they'd be better with a Help to Save account as they'd get the 50% bonus.

I started mine in August so don’t have the Christmas issue.
I don’t find it a faff at all because the money is moved automatically every day into
the savings challenge pot, so I don’t have to do anything.

Im sure there are better ways to save but at the moment I’m not noticing the money so it’s working for me.

Haha, same! I think it's great, don't miss the money coming out each day and will have a nice little sum to cheer up a dull January and the chance to win 10k!

Day 339. Is the prize draw 2nd Feb for everyone?

Do we need to keep the money in until 2nd of feb, or until the end of the challenge?

@DeedlessIndeed The draw is 2nd of Feb for everyone. You just have to have £667.95 in your savings challenge pot on the 365th day of the challenge, and an openn monzo account. Good luck!!

Made it to day 365 !
The money is staying where it is until I need to pay the credit card bill on 30th
Started it again for 2026 , and DH has signed up too
Keeping my fingers crossed for the 10k draw

Whoo hoo, I finished last year's challenge and used the cash to book a weekend away in a few weeks time. I'm on day 10 of the new challenge. I've decided that, as January is such a miserable month, I'm going to keep it as a 'weekend away' fund again.
