Rebel Energy and Oriel collections

Has anyone had issues with Rebel/Oriel?

I was with Rebel Energy, they collapsed a few months back.

I was up to date with bills and paid via dd.

Out of the blue last week I received two texts from Oriel I thought it was a scam text saying I owe £90. They are apparenlty collecting debts on behalf of Rebel who collapsed.

Oriel do not answer the phone I have been on hold for hours and no answer and also emailed with no response.

Is anyone else having this?

Googling suggests your supply was taken over by British Gas. Have they been in contact with you?

P.s. I wouldnt pay anything on the say so of a text. They can send a letter/statement setting out why you owe that amount of money

Yes we have spoken to them and they can't help.

It is Oriel who are chasing us bit we always paid by dd and had nothing o/s as far as we are aware.

Oriel don't answer the phone.

Have they sent any sort of statement with breakdown of the charges?
Can you reply to the text?

Nope no breakdown we thought it was a scam.

Have emailed them and no reply.

Yes I have had 3 months of emails from them trying to get me to pay a bill that was estimated even though I had provided the correct meter readings. I paid what I calculated I owed and they are still chasing me and threatening me for... 31 pence!
