Monzo v Hypejar - kids account

For basic pocket money/small savings we’ve been using Hype Jar for DS10 and DS6.

Wanted account with interest so they can learn how it works so switching to Monzo for 3%.

Did anyone else do this switch? Did you ditch hypejar altogether?

we’ve got larger savings for them elsewhere so not chasing higher interest rate. Looking for primary children entry into banking

Yes I ditched HyperJar for my daughter altogether and went for a Monzo account, as HyperJar introduced charges if you transfer money more than a certain number of times under a certain amount. Closed the HyperJar account altogether (about 6 months ago, if not more) and haven’t regretted it!

do not go with Go Henry, Barclays has just taken them over and they are the countries most corrupt bank, profiting from war and leading climate collapse, obviously not what we want our children to invest in.

Nationwide children account gives you 5% (up to 5k) plus debit card with no foreign exchange fee. Arguably or ironically better than anything I can have...

Agree mine have nationwide - and each received the 100 bonus, all the need is a savings and current account with at least 100.
