My ex is a controlling, bullying nasty piece of work who uses the children as weapons against me. They are not happy going off with him & I sense trouble ahead. Ideally id like to put as much distance as possible between us. How far am I allowed to legally move the dc away from their father? (Cant believe its come to this & im asking this question )

I didn't think there was a legal limit? Though you may need his permission to take them out of the country

i moved from devon to leicester with my DS but ex had no parental responsibility.
DHs Ex moved over an hour away with DSD which is a pain but no problem really. I suppose the real question is do oyu want DCs to have contact??? If answer is yes then make sure you are ok with meeting half way at visiting time. If not then i suppose move whereever you want but keep it quiet so ex cant stop you with a court order!

Agree that it's only leaving the country that you'd need permission for. Dh's ex moved 4 hours drive away.

He is currently living about an hour & three quarters drive away from our current house, & I have been meeting him half way when he brings them back, purely to stop him coming into the house.
I dont mind him seeing them if he treats them properly & stops using them in order to reduce his maintenance liability. Ideally he would drop of the face of the earth never to be seen again.
