Close UC claim or make it joint even though I wont be eligible

Hi everyone

Thinking ahead to the future when my partner moved in. Likely to be around September/ October time.

Currently single parent working full time. I get some UC and also some childcare costs back. I have only ever claimed UC since divorce and being in rented as costs are astronomical for renting in SE.

If my partner moves in then id not be entitled any more as we would earn too much as a household.

Im confused if I should just close my claim as of the date he moves in or if I should leave it open and declare the changes / new incomes even though our entitlement would be nothing in case anything changes in the future.

Conflicting advice online everywhere!

Anyone able to advise what the pros and cons are?
