Sometimes they give you a lump sum because you didnt have enough the year before if you used estimates and you earnt less than expected...
Sometimes they give you a lump sum because the cocked it up.
You do get tax credits weekly/monthly.
Theres something to do with MA that you is odd. Have you read the notes that can with the pack?

charliecat · 23/05/2008 13:01

CAME with the pack

u will get an award for the whole year but it will probably b paid 2 u in 13 4 weekly instalments throughout the year

fiodyl · 23/05/2008 13:03

and anything leftover from last year that they hadnt paid u will b paid as aseparate lump sum this year

ok thats what i think i thought lol. my maternity allowance is not taken into account as it was basically a benefit. i was not entitled to it at work i was being paid too little. they estimated my earinings for the past tax yr to be same as what my p60 was at the time which was 5400k something. at the end of this tax year my p60 was only £1670 so quite a bit less. i was unsure if that would mean that i would get some kind of lump sum back

I'm sure not what you want to here but at £5400 you'd be receiving about the max benefit allowance so the fact its adjusted to £1670 probably wont help.

(note I'm sure its a typo but 5400k is actually £5,400,000! the sort of thing if you put on your claim form they'd stop all benefits)

now im confused lol.
when i rang and gave them my p60 figure for this year she said is that all (i mentioned my mat leave) so i said i was getting ma, she said that it doesnt come into it.
oh i dont know think i will just call and ask!

no not a typo wish it was though!
