Maternity allowance… weekly earnings? How to calculate?

Hello I do not qualify for SMP my earnings weren’t high enough.
i know I can apply for maternity allowance. I get paid 4 weekly… I was told to send 4 payslips with the highest earnings.
my question is how do I work out weekly earnings with these 4 payslips?
I add the payslips together and then what? Can anyone break it down for me? Thanks!!

So 4 payslips equals 16 weeks so add it all together and divide by 16

Won't who ever you are sending them to work out how much you'll be entitled to?

Are you paid weekly or monthly? Does your payslip contain 1 week or 1 month (so 4/5 weeks)?

Says in the original post she is paid 4 weekly

To put it simply for MA they look at the 66 weeks prior, take the 13 weeks when you earned the most & then divide that by 13 to get the average weekly earnings.

For the first 6 weeks you get paid 90% of that, for the other 33 weeks you get the £187 a week OR 90% of your average weekly- whichever is lower.

@Mrsttcno1 hi there, because I am paid 4 weekly they said I only need to send 4 payslips ? So I don’t need to send 13?

If you are paid 4 weekly then 4 payslips = 16 weeks, so that contains the 13 they will use.
