Vinted seller disputing breast pump stopped working since purchase 49 days ago

Someone bought a breast pump from me that was in fully working order 40 days ago from me on Vinted and left positive feedback at the time. Today she has contes me saying it worked well for 2 days then apparently randomly started turning itself on automatically and now won’t work at all. She is asking for receipts so she can try to get a repair from the manufacturer. My receipt is out of warentee and wouldn’t cover her for repairs anyway even if was in date as she has bought it second hand. I feel the most likely scenario is she’s used it, breast feeding hasn’t worked out for her and no she is fleecing me hoping to get her money back. Even if true she has waited until 40 days post purchase to raise a concern. I assume she has no right to refund and is past the point of being able to leave me negative comments or feedback that could affect my future sales? Thoughts appreciated for information she bought the breast pump for £35 including all the accessories which retail around £200 new

I would just ignore her 🤷‍♀️

I think she can jog on. This is the risk you take buying something on vinted. You're not Amazon... She's well beyond the time limit of being able to request a refund. I'd just ignore her.

‘I’m very sorry to hear this has happened. I sold this in good faith in perfect working condition. I can’t give you a refund just because it has since stopped working - I have no way of knowing why that has happened or even proof that it has. This is the risk you take when you buy electrical items second hard at a fraction of the cost of the item new- there is no warranty. I would happily have sent you the receipt but the original warranty has now run out. Do feel free to raise this with Vinted but their returns policy is very clear that a refund is not appropriate in this scenario. ‘

seriously, I wouldn't even bother with this. She has no recourse so there is absolutely no point entering into a conversation with her. As she almost certainly won't accept whatever you say.

Why would you bother?

I think if she is asking for the receipt to try and get a repair then the theory of BF hasn’t worked and she’s trying to return it doesn’t quite seem like the case.

She could use the receipt and try and claim herself, nobody will question the identity on the receipt as far as proof of purchase is concerned - it’s only used to validate the date and origin of purchase.

That being said, it’s out of warranty and it’s stopped working. It’s outside of the vinted returns period so I would just politely say what others have - sorry. It’s worked for the last 40+ days, it’s outside of the purchase period, not much I can do. Have a look at manufacturer website for troubleshooting instructions.
