Company owes me money

I’m hoping someone can give me some advice because I’m confused as to what direction to go in.
i bought some furniture online from a company in November. I used a debit card to make the purchase (lesson learnt). It was due to be delivered in December. After lots of delays, silence and messing around I eventually cancelled my order in March and requested a full refund which they agreed to.
in the meantime, I got a new debit card.
the company is unresponsive. Occasionally, maybe once a month, they say they are doing something but nothing ever happens. They have £700 of my money and I need it back.
going through my bank isn’t working because I used a debit card which is no longer in action.
looking online I could serve them a statutory demand but they seem to be a route for amounts over £750 and if they ignore that, then I don’t really know what I can do given the amount is under £750.
in desperation I managed to track down the CEO via LinkedIn who was initially responsive but he’s gone quiet for the last month (go figure that the rest of the customer service behaves like him)
how can I get my money back??

Have you actually spoken with the bank. In Ireland certainly they will help you even if it is paid with a debit card. It is not as easy but they still help.

The old debit card and the new debit card are linked to the same account. As far as I know the shop can process the refund to the old card and it should go into your account.

If you have not spoken with your bank go into the branch and talk to someone there. I find sometimes call centre staff are not as good.

Thanks for your comments. I spoke with my bank and they just told me to ask them to make a transfer.
i also raised a payment dispute form which didn’t come to anything.
ive raised another one so will try again and see if i get a different outcome

Speak to your bank again and again; they will be able to get the money back.Tell them all you have done to get the money back and ask for a chargeback.
