Switching to 0% interest lower APR cc

I would like to switch as I think my APR is too high on my current cc.

Problem is that I'm in credit on my credit card, how would this work with a transfer fee to a new card?

I've been ill and dozy recently so made a payment to cc instead of where it was supposed to go. I was in credit already but now I'm well over.

If you're in credit on your card, are you actually carrying a balance and paying interest?

You could either spend the credit or ask for a refund.

Then if you still have debt that's costing you interest, on another card perhaps, you need to apply for another card and make the transfer.

But you might not need to pay a fee, I never have and have been running credit card balances for years, offset by savings to profit from the interest.

Oh OK I might apply for a new card with lower interest rates then. It was the balance transfer fee which confused me.

Thanks!
