Hello lovely Mumsnetters! I have been scouring articles and calculators online but I can't find the basic fact I'm looking for, which prob means it is blindingly obvious, but bear with me.. we are soon going to have to remortgage our Help to Buy, and not going to pay any of it off yet, so I can see the interest we will pay yearly on HtB, but my question is will we also be paying a mortgage on it (like does the 60k get added to mortgage we pay monthly too)? V grateful, thanks x

Also interested to hear what people going through same thing think is a good deal these days (not holding breath I know for a good one)

I'm not an expert on this so hopefully someone else comes along to confirm.

If you are not planning to pay off the equity loan then your mortgage would exclude it. Otherwise you would he paying interest for it twice.

If you wanted to include it in the mortgage then you would use that to pay the help to buy loan off.

No it doesn’t. Are you remortgaging or just re-fixing? If the latter, the HTB will be included in your equity so you have the benefit of a lower LTV rate. But obviously in the mean time you pay interest and bear in mind the govenment’s share will increase if house prices are increasing.
