Advice on my budgeting as a SAHM!

Hi

I have 1 year old twins and I want to ideally be a SAHM until they’re 2 years old. I am still on maternity pay.
My DH covers all the main bills in the house and outing money, and we have a joint account for anything myself/ the twins/ he would need.

Right now, I am able to save around £200 a month from the budget I give myself and I feel I have enough “fun money” from the joint account. I have a savings account for the twins too. I’m wondering if I should be trying to save more for myself or it’ll only really be possible when I go back to work..

I guess I want to also enjoy my time with the kids too without being too frugal but it’s a case of balancing.
How did other mums do it?

I was married with 100% shared economy.
I wouldn't accept less.

We shared everything. As another posted said, I wouldn’t accept anything less.

You need to be thinking about how things are going to work once your mat pay runs out. And this means you need to share finances completely.
