Argos card to pay for shopping

Just a quick question, can you use an argos card in Sainsburys to pay for groceries? Can’t imagine you can but according to their website you can 🤔 I’ve had an unexpected bill which has left me with nothing until Monday but low on food so can I use this to pay for my shopping, really don’t want to be embarrassed and have to put it all back. Has anyone done this? This is their Argos store card buy now pay later

Best thing to do is check customer services as you go in.

I was thinking of going to a sainsburys local first and buying something small to see if it works

Yes, you can in store but not online.

Wanted to know if anyone has actually tried it but tbh doesn’t have a chip so not risking it as planned to use the self check out for the least amount of embarrassment if it doesn’t work.

I think that you can, the self check-out generates a slip which you have to sign, the assistant then checks that it matches what is on your card.

To generate the slip, you slide the card down the side of the card reader.

You have to sign a slip that gets printed and the signature is checked with the one on the back of the card (so make sure it's signed).

Yes you can, but it's on normal credit so when your next statement comes. You can use it in the argos clearance shop too if you have one nearby.
