Scottish Power payment plan and credit file

Hi

Earlier this year I contacted scottish power to arrange a payment plan - we had run up a balance of £1200 due to direct debit issues - a long story. Anyway, I have checked my credit file tonight and Scottish power is showing as us being in an arrangement to pay. I understand that this is quite a serious marker to have on my credit file and is similar to a default. We were never told that this would happen - not a word.

Could this just be a mistake?

Scottish power report to credit agencies monthly. The report will reflect the status of your account. You have a debt and an arrangement to pay, so I struggle to see how that's inaccurate or a mistake.
