Do you think we could start a SECRET MN economy?

Last night I was brainstorming about money. How I need some and some friends of mine need some (some friends on MN)

I was thinking. Now I am no money expert in fact I am pretty crap at it at times and I havent totally thought this through but I was just wondering.

What if every month everyone on MN gave up one pound. Say in month 1 you all give me 1 pound. I would have A LOT of money. Then the next month we all give someone else 1 pound. And so on and so forth. What we give out is minimal - I put more than that in charity boxes each month. But one month at a time a MNer and her family would get a windfall. Ok I know there are a lot of us so it would take a long time to get around to everyone but... would it work?? Somehow we will have to keep it secret from the wider world or everyone in the world would want to join MN and it would never ever end. But... am I really dumb? Is this possible?

But there are so many MNers it might take 73 yrs for your month to come up

How abot a penny a day?

I know people who have done this but with larger amounts and personally wouldnt do it as sadly the examples I know of have resulted in someone running off with the cash.

er I think it would take far far too long for people to get back anything
I mean there are thousands of members on here, and hundreds of very active members alone
we'd be likely to die before it was our turn for the windfall

All put a penny in & one person gets it, then the next day another person gets it - we might get round MN within 50 or 60 yrs that way

boot sales and ebay could help but I really need quite a lot. I dont know. I will sort something out. I wasnt meaning to moan about my own money problems (yet! we'll see if it gets worse!) as I know there are a lot of people a lot worse off than me but I just need a little windfall you know?

so if we have 3.5 million MNetters it could take 9500 yrs to get round us all

You'd only get round 12 MNer's a year though and theres probably 100 times more that need it

well 30p a month sounds alright to me! DH doesnt think it would work but I dont know if we sorted it out it could!

well nbg the money could be channeled through me... but I dont know any other idea would be good!

dont know how people would pay it... maybe if they paid for the whole month in one go - 30p a month or something through paypal???? or they could attach it to a pigeons leg or something??
