Will euro / GBP exchange rate improve further?

Thinking about buying holiday money. £415 today is worth €500 (appreciate that’s not what it actually buys with fees etc). Has it topped out, so buy now, or wait and see? We are travelling to France mid-January.

It may improve as we're slower that than Euroland in lowering interest rates. OTOH more bad news about UK growth etc might push it the other way.

I just use my card over there like at home always rejecting the vendors dynamic currency conversion and pay in Euro.

Its almost impossible to guess, World events cab have an overnight effect. I would get am account with a fee free debit card. We use Starling. The exchange rate is v close to the bank rate, so at the moment we would get close to €1.20 on purchases. If you use an atm at some banks, you can also withdraw cash with no charges. The saving on extra fees will more than wipe out any marginal gains or losses in exchange rate fluctuations.
