I applied for Child Benefit on 2nd Oct (very aware this is only 2 weeks ago, just wanted to hear the experiences of others who have applied fairly recently). I have had 2 texts saying it will take up to 28 days to process the claim, however on the Gov website it says to expect a reply by 15th January 2025, and that they are currently processing claims from 18th July!
This doesn't seem very fair as I know they'll only backdate a maximum of 3 months, so please can you let me know timelines of when you applied to receipt of first payment, so I can set my expectations?
