I subscribed to a trade publication in a free trial to read one article. I then tried to cancel immediately, but there was no obvious cancellation button. I then got sidetracked by work/life. I noticed that £369.99 had come out of my account and discovered this is the annual subs. If it was the monthly sub I could absorb it but all that money at once on a month when I’ve had a significant number of other expenses, this has left me in a difficult position and actually short on various bills.
I know I signed up, but they made it very difficult to cancel and therefore I forgot after my initial attempt. They’ve turned down my request for a refund and my last request was that they compromise and take one months subscription fee and refund the rest. Or maybe even convert it to a monthly sub so I get the bill back but have to continue subscribing for the year.
is there any room for flexibility here or is it just tough, you made a mistake and will now be behind with your bills?
