Power of Attorney - Debt Management Plan

Help!

My mum and step dad have asked me to be Power of Attorney for them (in various sequences) and I've signed the docs.

I've recently entered into a DMP with Stepchange (all going well) but I DO NOT want them to know about my debt issues.

I've googled and all I can see is that anyone who has entered into 'bankruptcy' cannot be PoA.

Will they be alerted to my DMP when they file their PoA papers?!! The whole PoA thing has taken me by surprise and I feel like they're going to find out about my debt problem despite all my careful efforts to keep it from them!!!!

I dont know but a dmp is not bankruptcy or anything close to bankruptcy.

Powers of Attorney are registered with the Office of the Public Guardian

I don't think there is any mechanism by which the OPG would be aware of a DMP unless you were required to disclose it.
