Civil Service Pension..

I took my civil service pension approx 5yrs ago, and am looking at another job within the civil service - completely different dept.
I've been reading about abatement, and the New Fair Deal - does this now mean I can be re-employed in the civil service, without my pension being abated?

I didn't think it meant that at all. I think the abatement rules stayed the same - you can't earn more through pension plus earnings than you did before retirement.

Fair Deal is about people being outsourced from the public sector but being able to stay in their original scheme. I think what you’ve found means that people who are outsourced won’t have their pensions abated.

If you’re just rejoining the civil service after a break, Fair Deal doesn’t apply to you.
