Universal credit and nhs fleet scheme

Hi,

So I'm looking for some advice. So I work full time in the nhs and also receive some help off universal credit for the cost of afterschool clubs/holiday clubs. I need a new car and was thinking of leasing a car through nhs fleet . Does anyone know if this will impact on UC? I'm trying to weigh it all up and would really appreciate any advice if you have done this? Thanks 🥰

have you checked that you earn enough that you can lease the car? I know that if the deduction takes you below a certain amount you won’t qualify for the scheme

The salary sacrifice will reduce your take home effectively increasing your UC however you need to weigh this up against the tax for BIK and the long term pension effect. Also it wouldn't surprise me if BIK gets pulled unto UC calculations. I suspect it's a minor change which would save some money and be a people pleaser
