Setting up as sole trader - account management advice

Not sure if this should be in the money section or work section, but here goes.

I need to set up as sole trader for some freelance work coming my way.

It's for professional consultancy work so I am trying to work out the best way of managing the invoicing and banking as it won't be bread and butter money for a while. I have also made up my mind I will set up a separate bank account as if this takes off I would like to build out the offer.

Can anyone recommend good business bank accounts? Are Starling as good as the reviews suggests? Is QuickBooks (or equivalent) worth it? Would quickbooks look a bit odd for consultancy contracts (I only ever receive invoices via it from service providers)?

Thanks in advance!
