Paypal pay in 3. First time trying this when will it be authorised by Currys.

That's the merchant. 3 payments for a phone. Basket kept whirring round for ever so I came out of the page.
Bank is showing payment pending but my balance has gone down.
PayPal is showing waiting for authorisation.
Whose authorisation?
If I go back to my Currys account page the phone is still in my basket and it's saying how do you want to pay.
I darent try again as I might end up with two lots of payment pending for two phones.

I have googled the hell out of this but though I'd ask MN as someone always has experience.

I ordered this yesterday afternoon.
My current phone is dying and I wish I'd just paid outright the whole balance.

Do I wait. Well I guess I'll have to. There's no confirmation of the order on Currys. So no way to cancel or enquire.

It would have had to link to your bank and you login to you internet banking and put your password in to authorise it. It takes seconds so something must have gone wrong. I don't think it's anything to do with Currys. They are paid immediately by PayPal who are in effect lending you the money. I usually find PP are good on chat.

I don't know what's causing your specific issue but I've used this pay-in-3 service a few times, it's fine. Maybe just a glitch, hope you get it sorted

Nothing on my bank account page to authorise. The balance has gone down and I understand this to be my bank pre authorisation?

Maybe the glitch was when on the Currys payment page, it just kept whirring round?

Like it's not completed the order properly.
This stupid phone.

I've only been able to 'speak' to a bot.

It basically said if the payment isn't captured by the merchant within 24 hours the money should revert to my bank balance.

But then it can take some days for this to show.

Thanks I'll update if anything changes. Might help someone else in the future.

In the meantime the phone price could go up. I just wanted a bit of a bargain and pay in 3.
