PCP household income

Hi I have a car on pcp, the car is financed in my name. However when making the application the dealer used my household income which was mine and my partner (of 12 years) annual income. We both have a good income but his is higher.

I alone cannot afford the car, alone with mortgage and other bills etc but with 2 wages coming in it was manageable. I’m now in a position where me and my partner are no longer together.

I know I should have never agreed to take a car out that I alone cannot afford but stupidly thought I would never be in this position and lessons learned.

we have only had the car less than 1 year so doubt there would be any equity in the car to trade in for something cheaper.

my question is, should my household income have been taken into consideration when my partner is not on the finance? Guess just clutching at straws to find a way out.
