My company contributes a £1000 a year towards my pension but I don't have one
I really need to get it sorted within the next 2 weeks before I go back to work. The finance Director keeps sending me polite emails asking if I've got it sorted yet, I tell her I'm on with it.
I have looked at a few websites and somebody recommended Scottish Widows and to go with a stakeholder pension. If I did get say a stake holder pension for now could I change in a couple of years.
Any advice appreciated.

If you only intend to take your employers contribution and not add much, a simple stakeholder pension may be your best bet, rather than spending money on an adviser (unless you have other investments/insurance needs that need sorting, in which case, get thee to one straight away! they are great). Stakeholder pensions are designed to be fairly universal, cheap pension options. information here.

I would then put the investments into one of the more cautious investment options available within the stakeholder. Again, if you want to do anything remotely adventurous, I would go to an IFA. They can take commission out of the pension investment if you want, meaning that the fees don't come directly from you. you can find an adviser on www.unbiased.co.uk if you want.

Let me know if there's anything else I can (try to) help with!
