Do I owe court costs?

Please could someone advise on a matter that periodically plays on my mind?

Seven years ago my landlord put my home up for sale. I received a s21 notice and applied for council housing through a bidding system. There was a slight crossover between s21 notice being up and getting allocated a house and in that time the landlord put in a court application to evict. I'd already moved out by the hearing date although I did receive the papers. At the time I moved out I had no rent owing and I received my deposit back. The letting agent used my new address and contact details to do that.

I didn't hear anything about the court case so a couple of weeks later I phoned the court to let them know I'd moved out and they said they didn't know and they thanked me for the information. I then never heard anything else. My question is, there were court costs listed on that application from the landlord. Would I have been liable for them? I know I could phone the court and ask but to be honest I'm a bit scared to. So I've never done anything about it. But in fairness I haven't had anyone ask for them either.

Does anyone who knows about this think I owe this money for costs?

I would have expected the court to award the nominal costs to the landlord (less than £400) but landlords don't usually bother to take steps to recover these. There would not be a record of this on your credit file (unless the landlord took steps to recover the costs). After 6 years, the right to recover the costs is lost. I would not let this play on your mind after all this time.
