Taking a mortgage holiday after remortgaging?

Does anyone know the answer to this -

We have a mortgage with Halifax which is about to run out, we have a remortgage deal agreed with them to kick in in the next month or so. The rules state you can only take a mortgage holiday after 12 months of arranging a new mortgage - would this include remortgaging with the same provider?

many thanks

I imagine so, since it's a new agreement. But the only way you'd know for sure is by asking your lender.

Assuming you are staying with Halifax & simply switching to a new rate then I think a mortgage holiday would be ok. It's not a new mortgage or even a remortgage.

i would agree. its a product transfer. So worth asking them. dont think it should be an issue

Does not taking a mortgage holiday not just run up the interest for the months you are not paying?
