I sent a bank statement to the DWP last year, and they've just got round to looking at it. I'm currently under the £6k limit for savings, but in the past I have been above it - I've just looked at my breakdown and they have my savings at £8700. They have said they will ask me for 3 years' worth of bank statements. Will I get into trouble for not sending them bank statements every month I was over £6k? It looks like I might have been underpaid because of not sending in the statements - I misunderstood the change of circumstances, I think.
