SK:N goes under - help!?!?

Hello, I wondered if anyone else is in a similar position? I paid £384 for a course of 8 laser hair removal sessions at SK:N Barnet. I had the first session last week only to learn they've gone bankrupt. There's a complete blackout of information coming from the company, and I have a sinking sense I'm going to lose my money - which for me was a lot to part with in the first place. Anyone have the slightest idea what's happening? What are others doing who find themselves in the same spot? 😭😭😭

If anybody needs money back, is affected either being staff or a customer a journalist has got involved for the BBC I believe. Her details can be found on the recent trust pilot reviews for this company

Just found this thread by chance. I used to use a branch quite regular in Birmingham for laser hair treatment but stopped as I found a better solution, that's another story! anyway. I have friends that work at this branch and in the call centre above, staff were told only on the morning by a zoom/teams call what was happening. It came as a complete shock to all, absolutely disgusting. They were taking customers money right up to the very end with the higher ups knowing full well what was going to happen. Some staff resorted to taking small fixtures, expensive skincare items and whatever they could get their hands on as they were told they were not going to get paid, all this a week before payday. People are in bits, nobody is talking, how a company of this size can get away with such damage is beyond me.

That’s absolutely disgusting! I feel so sorry for the staff who didn’t know what was happening. When I booked my surgery with them I was given a deadline for paying the balance which was the end of June. A week before the date, the lady who I booked with rang me and said that head office had been in touch with her saying it was my deadline to pay on that day.. I questioned it and double-checked my paperwork - it wasn’t. She seemed really confused.. now it all makes sense! They were scrabbling around trying to get every penny they could, so were telling staff that deadlines were overdue when they weren’t. I’m waiting to hear the outcome of an investigation by Mastercard. Fingers crossed!

Hi! Just wondering if you got anywhere with getting your money back? I’m in a similar situation and I don’t know what I can do

I went through the finance option with omni but then I got pregnant and could t use my sessions for a year so I just paid the loan anyway and waited I then started using them a few weeks before they went into liquidation. I’ve paid just over £1k and used 2 sessions out of 8 I think. I registered as a creditor as advised on the link they sent to everyone on the gov website but all I got was an acknowledgment email and nothing else…

I changed banks aswell so I don’t know if my previous bank (Barclays) would even be able to help with me no longer being a customer. Did you find any help with your case? I just want my money back 😩 it’s disgusting that they can even do this!

Hi, I bank with Santander and paid by debit card for surgery that didn’t go ahead. I had to provide evidence of invoices etc, but managed to get the full amount (over £8000) back. Definitely go to your bank asap, as there’s no guarantee you’ll get anything as a creditor. Good luck and I hope you have a positive outcome too!
