Aip and financial associates?

Hi everyone

I’m wondering if someone can help

Does applying for an aip with another person mean you’re financially associated?

I was under the impression you are only associated with someone financially if you apply for a mortgage, credit card, joint account etc, and that an aip is only a soft search so won’t affect your credit score

thanks!

I asked work for a proper answer to this and got

"Applying for a joint Agreement in Principle (AIP) with someone does not automatically mean you are "financially associated" with that person. However, it is a step towards becoming financially associated, as credit reference agencies and lenders might begin to link your financial profiles due to the joint application"
