Why am I having an issue opening online accounts?!

I'm trying to open an account that is easier to manage children's accounts with. I tried Starling and was turned down with no reason given. I've just tried Hyperjar but received a message that 'something doesn't look right' after doing the video ID check. I have an excellent credit rating and manage lines of credit very well. I'm wondering if it is something to do with the ID checking process but as Starling wouldn't give me any information on why 'computer said no' I don't know.
Any ideas? Has anyone experienced similar?

What id are you using? Could be something as simple as a spelling error on your address details, or your driving licence photocard has expired?

What do you mean by manage lines of credit well? Do you have large debts?

-manage lines of credit very well. - what do you mean?

-have you recently got married or changed your name? Is your kid's last name different to yours? -Do you have a landline?

  • Does your ID look like you?
  • do you have the same name as a terrorist or politically exposed person?

Thanks for replies. I'm using my passport for this one. For starling I used photo driving licence. I've lived at my property for over 6 years. Sorry-by manage credit lines well I mean that I have two credit cards in my name and both are well below half of their limits and I always meet payment dates. I have maintained them to build a credit history. The accounts I'm trying to open also come without any overdraft etc so won't actually be 'credit' I have the same name as my children and my name is a name that hundreds have.
The only thing I've done fairly recently is change mobile phone provider before Christmas.

And no I don't have a landline.
I think my ID looks like me still.
