I’m already on pip but I applied for it again in January as I believe I’m entitled to a higher rate and I didn’t hear anything back until today as I tried to get through it took 8 hours waiting to ask about it and they said it’s with the manager and I’ve given enough information to support my case, I can expect a response within a few weeks. Am I likely to be awarded or have they likely spent the last 6 months coming up with ways to deny me the correct rate? Thanks

They are taking ages to process reviews at the moment, because they redeployed staff from dealing with reviews to deal with the backlog of new applications. (I have a client who has been waiting 10 months for a decision.)

You can't read anything into the delay, I'm afraid.

It's impossible to say. I always felt that if it was something negative or you'd be cut off, they'd put those ones at the top of the pile and get rid of them first so to speak. But at this point the backlog is massive, so just wait and see. You can appeal if you disagree.
I had my forms in April last year (I've been on it for about 5 years ) and they have them but said the backlog is massive so it will be the same award til December of this year. At the soonest or just longer if they've not dealt with it by then!
It used to take a couple of months maybe, now it's more like years!
