Universal credit - upfront nursery costs whilst on Mat leave

Hiya! I really hope someone can help.

I return to work in July, and that is also when my daughter will start nursery.

as per her nursery’s request we had to pay for that month upfront in May.

so my question is, will I still be reimbursed for childcare costswith universal credit even though i technically paid in May (an assessment period where earnings were £0) although it covers July, a month where I will have earnings?

You should be ok. When entering childcare costs you enter the date paid and what dates the childcare covers. They’ll then reimburse for the dates that are within your assessment period.
if the dates overlap you’ll get part of it and then the rest in the next one.
