UC - child maintenance/spousal Maintenance

Hello Folks,
If anyone can help me with a query on UC.
My circumstances will change shortly and I may be entitled to UC. So my question is, if my Ex were to pay me directly £1000 per month (private arrangement) for our two children. Would I still be entitled to UC? There is a spousal tab, would this £1000 a month go in there? I have a Citizens Advice meeting booked but I am so keen to know. Do I have to declare the private child benefit as a Spousal Maintenance?

Child maintenance is not spousal maintenance -dont confuse them.
DWP do count spousal maintenance as income and therefore it will affect your UC calc but they dont count child maintenance as your income.

Spousal maintenance is not child maintenance. Spousal maintenance is income for UC purposes, whereas child maintenance is fully ignored for UC purposes.

SM is normally ordered by a court during a divorce, and is really quite rare.
