Universal credit and housing payment

Hello, I have never posted on here before so apologies if it’s wrong. I currently receive universal credit and live in a part rent part buy house. I have been claiming for a year and when filling out the application form there isn’t a section to click part rent part buy ( only rent, mortgaged, own outright) so I haven’t been receiving help with the rent side. I had an advanced review meeting and they said I should be receiving housing help for the rent. Will my payments be back dated to when my claim was originally started???? Thank you.

You should be able to get help towards the rent element (but not the mortgage other than perhaps as a loan).

The on line application form morphs as you answer questions and I suspect, though I'm by no means sure, shared ownership would be provided as an option in that way.

You can ask for a backdate though whether you will get one is difficult to answer.

Shared Ownership (I think it's "I live in a Property I part-Rent and part-Own (with or without a Mortgage)" on the options.

I would suggest re-reporting your Housing details as this from the outset of your UC claim.

For the most part, Shared Ownership can be verified through the Landlord Portal now (assuming your Social Landlord is a Trusted Partner).
