Do I need to report illness to UC

I work but I'm on a low wage, so get topped up by universal credit. They're happy with the amount I work so have no requirements to look for work.

A week ago I fell and fractured my ankle, I had to have surgery and now can't put weight on it for 6 weeks. I'm currently off work with a sick note, and my work will give me full pay for up to 12 weeks. As I'll be back within the 12 weeks my income will not be affected by the time off.

Do I need to report this to universal credit?

Yes.
I was recently off and they said I had to add my sick note, despite getting full sick pay and only a small UC top up.

Yes you do. If it goes titzup later for whatever reason and you'd not told them it might be a problem.

No you are still being paid your contracted hours so it's not relevant. Some WC like the pp make up their own rules or maybe they had work requirements.

I didn’t make up my own rules 🙄 nor did I have work requirements. They actually increased my UC whilst I was off sick for some reason too. No clue why, maybe they will end up asking for it back at some point though.

I’m pretty sure you are supposed to inform them. I sent a note in the journal ( also had no work commitments) they wrote back saying thanks for keeping us informed. That was it.

Thanks, I reported it through the "report a change" bit, then put a note on the journal explaining about receiving sick pay. Hopefully I won't have confused them
