PIP review waiting times - any advice??

Hi everyone,

I am currently in receipt of PIP. My award is due to end December 2025. I understand that I will receive the PIP review paperwork around a year before the end date, so I am expecting to receive it early next year.

Does anyone know what sort of wait I should expect once I have completed the review forms? I am worried about my review being done very quickly and then the money being stopped, should my award be disallowed.

I have budgeted up until the end of my award on December 2025 and feel stressed that my award could end before this date.

Does anyone have experience of this? I am based in the West Midlands if that makes any difference?

Well I’ve been waiting over a year for a mandatory reconsideration and now tribunal…

It will vary by area but the reason the review forms are sent out so far is that the reviews take ages. I have a family member whose award runs out in October 24. She got the review forms in December 23 and we returned them that month and we are still awaiting the outcome.

I’ve heard of a few people who are experiencing long review waiting times

Mine should have been up on June 8th 2024. I sent all my review paperwork off end of October. I got a letter this week telling me they've not managed to review it and my award will remain in place until 8th June 2025...

For dd hers was due to end Feb 2024, renewal form received Feb 2023, renewal form sent back March 23, renewal completed April 24. Heard nothing until Jan 2024 when they said that they would extend award for a year then three weeks later told form had gone to IAS.

I think my friend waited the best part of a year

Current wait times for renewals are 56 weeks.

They had a paper based assessment last week and were reawarded it thankfully. But a between 10 and 11 month wait.
