pIP assessment scared

Hello,

Have my pip assessment Thursday and I'm freaked out tbh. Have been turned down for a blue badge as only scored 6 points.

I was diagnosed in feb with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, I have severe mean health issues, resulting in self harming, this has lead back to relationship issues, I also believe the current relationship I am trying to leave (we live seperate) is quite a narcasstic relationship: I work in a kitchen and have now had two sick notes back to back and been off work for 12 weeks.
Mentally I am struggling; work wise I struggle and pay for it if I work, my youngest is on the ASD spectrum and that's constant in itself, I applied for LCWRA after my pip form and feel I left alot out: as I wrote a whole Piece on my mental health.

Any good tips or anything please?

Its a telephone assessment:
I have a car and have to drive because I can't deal with public transport; and have to get kids to school.
I had to give the dog away because I can't walk her anymore:
I do housework and spend days in bed.
I order more takeaways in a week/family cook for the kids than I can cook:
I have family come round and fill in my pill pots etc so I remember to take them; and they message me reminding me; they remind me to shower; to do my hair. I have to pay for a cleaner as I physically cannot do it:

Smiling assassin is spot on.

You have my sympathy. We are also going through this. My dh had 2 strokes last year resulting in mobility difficulties and speech difficulties. We applied last June. Initial claim rejected. Mandatory reconsideration also rejected with less points! Now waiting for tribunal. Now 10 months on this money is supposed to help you, if you can get it.

Hey x so it's not too detailed and forgot the mental health side but do you think this will be good evidence for pip and LCWRA?

Lots of focusing on worst days in these comments....it's about how you are affected the majority of the time. Someone who cannot do a particular activity on average 3 out of 7 days(6 out of 14 days or 14 days out of 30 etc) will not get points on that descriptor since it's not the majority of the time. If you are at your worst most of the time then it's a non-issue but I've seen many comments from claimants on other forums(including this one)and other disability web sites telling people or admitting to doing this themselves to only focus on how they are at their worst even if it's for a few hours a week. Anyone who takes this kind of misguided advice is committing Fraud whether knowingly or not.

Absolutely agree with this and am also so fed up with people advising others to write the form and answer the questions based just on a worst day. I supported someone with a PIP assessment yesterday and the assessor for every question asked specifically how many days the person was struggling. with certain activities.

I agree too.

I didn't say people should claim solely based on worst days. One does though need make sure they cover how they are on their bad days to make sure bases are covered. The bad days/worse days mantra is meant to focus on that.

Once that experience is captured then explore how the bad day/good day numbers work.

Since I spend a lot of time with Cancer patients the way things cycle around Chemo sessions is important.

Whether you are Living Together as Married Couple is a question of fact. DWP guidance is here:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a7575a740f0b6397f35e96f/adme4.pdf

If you live together all the time moving between your respective homes I think you might struggle to show you're not in the same household; joint claim required.

On the other hand if you're going to end the relationship, as seems to be your intent, then the problem goes away - at least for the future.

I've won a couple of tribunals where the issue has been about cohabitation.

In both cases, the tribunal seemed to set a lot of store by where the client kept their clothes, toiletries and other personal effects than by the number of nights that were spent under the same roof.

Had my assessors report through and have been awarded 12 daily living points and 8 mobility so as long as the people agree with the assessor I’ll have been awarded! Thank you thank you xx
