Hi,
We have received a letter informing us that apparently we owe £2.5k even though we updated our income details online last year. Tried calling the collection agency who said they'd call back and never did. So there must be so many in the same situation so why do the HMRC leave it until the end of the tax year to let you know there's an overpayment and they want it back?! Why not update it in real time? We are going to struggle to find that amount now that everything has got ridiculously expensive.
