DM moved Premium Bonds to old account

She’s just told me she pulled out a large amount out on Monday. She’s somehow done it to an old frozen account of my dads.

I’ll go there tomorrow to try and sort this.

What is likely to happen with the money? Will it go back to the Premium bond account or is it gone?

Were they in joint names? The money will have gone back to the account they were bought from (probably) unless she has changed her account with NS&I. Is the account still there, if so the money may be credited, if not hopefully it would be returned to NS&I. Check and change the account associated with her NS&I accounts, I have a feeling you have to do it for each investment type, I think I tripped over this at one point.

It won't be gone, but it may need tracking down!

I’ve got no idea what shes done really but she rang worried because she checked as the money wasn’t in the bank and they hadn’t changed it with NS and I.

I’m hoping it will bounce back??

@Moneyhelp01 NS&I usually pay into the nominated account associated with your PB I.e. if she wins which account do the winnings go into?

If it is your Dad’s old account phone the bank and they should be able to track it down and refund to NS&I. Then phone NS&I and explain what happened. You Mum will need to log on to NS&I and update her account details.

The money bounced back to her premium bond account before I could do anything.

Its all updated now thank goodness x
