Anyone know anything about Abbey Life?

As our fixed rate mortgage is shortly coming to an end, we're seeing an IFA for a much needed review of our finances.

I have various pensions, 2 of which are with Abbey Life. But I have discovered, looking through my files, that I haven't received a statement from them in 4 years! (It's an annual statement which is why I haven't noticed).

I've been searching online to see if there's a way I can contact them, but they don't appear to exist any more.

Does anyone know if they do exist?!

We had a policy with Abbey Life which started to under perform. We didnt get statements for a while then finally got a letter telling us we needed to double our payments for the policy to break even. We left them and proved that our account (and many others)had been mis-sold so we got compensation (I dont want to worry you, this was quite a few years ago ) IIRC they were taken over by sun alliance but will double check this with dh when he returns.

There was a bit of a problem with them in that I kept my maiden name, for years after I was married (just on these policies, changed my name on everything else) and suddenly I had a letter saying that letters to me in my maiden name had been returned as 'no-one living there with that name' - which was very odd as we hadn't returned any mail! (Nor would we, if it had my name on it!)

So I suspect this was probably around the time they were being taken over and different computer sytems were being installed.
