UC - forgotten change of address

Hi,

We moved house in October - mortgaged property, money used to buy new house.

I completely forgot to update the address on our UC claim.

I’ve updated it today and added a note to the journal to apologise and explain.

As far as I can see it will make no difference. I never claimed the Housing Element before - just a joint claim with two DC, plus carer element. So I haven’t had any money that I wasn’t entitled to nor gained any financial advantage.

When I updated it today there was a warning about not telling them and penalties if you’ve been overpaid. Our circumstances are the same so I don’t think that applies.

Am I likely to get in trouble for this?? I can’t believe I missed it 🤦🏻‍♀️ Will I need to provide proof of what happened to the proceeds?

DP has been off sick for past two years and I’m a carer for DM and DC so we’d be destitute without the UC. I’m really stressing!! I’m autistic/ADHD so can really work myself up into a state about things when the outcome is unknown.

Does anyone know what they’re likely to do please?

It 's just an error of omission. No effect on UC payable I cannot see how you could, never mind should, be penalised.

They've got bigger fish to fry.
