Changing bank account offers

I was reading Martin Lewis newsletter and there's a bit about changing bank account offers with money if you move.

Has anyone done this?
Does it affect your credit score or anything?

It’s really simple and will only affect your credit score if you do it several times a year.

I had a spare change account with Halifax which I swapped a few DDs to and then moved to first direct for £175.
Too wedded to my main account to move that but I'll probably swap the first direct one again next time there's a good offer

I do it quite often. I'm going to investigate if I can open a royal bank of Scotland account and get the incentive based on when I opened my NatWest (I can't remember when I opened it but it's some time in 2020 or before and you can receive.) or I'll go to Santander. Currently with first direct but I don't recommend them purely because when I spend on my card I don't get a notification like I do with every other bank account I have. I feel this puts me at risk of being scammed and not knowing. Otherwise they're fantastic and i got the £175 really quickly once I met the criteria.

My credit rating dropped a few points this time but I opened 2 first direct accounts within a few weeks and a chase account a little after as they do 1% cash back for a year. Soon went back up and it never dipped before it was purely too many in succession.
