im in exactly the same situation T4G.
i applied on 10th march, they stopped my existing award on the 12th and ive had no money for 2 weeks.
i have been phoning them and they tell me they cant say when i will get a payment, they cant tell me what the hold up is, they cant say what i will get, they cant chase it up and they cant put me through to the relevant people.
i got so annoyed today that i asked to speak to the manager and told her "you have left me with no money for 2 weeks with 2 severely disabled children you tell me what im supposed to do?"
she just said i understand you are upset but theres nothing i can do,
like you im fast running out of money also.
im going to lose my daughters nursery place soon cos i cant pay it (was using dla to pay for it but am living off that atm)
its so frustrating.

mine took 2 weeks to sort out - did you post the claim yourself or did you get the JC to post it for you?

I was in the end ringing every day to check on it. but took 2 weeks last sept.

I posted it myself - and as I didnt know my child benefit no had to apply for that - that came through this week and I rang them up to give them the no - the chap said theres nothing outstanding but I cant tell how long it will process. Jenk1 I really feel for you its annoying you only apply for these benefits because you need them so why the hell do they take so long?? - Have you had a word with the nursery and asked them for an extension on payment terms - surely they can see it cant be good for the kids to suffer another upset in nursery place sometimes the gvt really annoys me - bet it doesnt take as long to process MPs expenses! - why dont you contact your MP its worth a go Jenkl1 Anyway good luck with the claim I hope it comes through soon

I know I said I wasn't going to post on here anymore - but I just wanted to say

I rang them on the 14th of March, and I got my first payment on my new claim (as a single parent) on Tuesday just gone (25th)
