Pension ombudsman delays

Anyone else have a complaint in with the pension ombudsman?

My complaint has been with them for about a year. They told me in November that it could be up to a further 2 years before it's allocated to someone to look at or I could go for their speedy resolution service. I opted to go for that and they've just emailed me to say it will be 11 months until it's allocated.

Not being funny but is that not shocking service?

Not even sure who I could escalate it to or even complain about their service to. My initial complaint with the company itself commenced in October 2022.

What does your complaint relate to? Yes the pension ombudsman has been absolutely shocking for years.. but three years just to be allocated a case adviser!! That's insane. It looks like you can make a complaint about their service to: [email protected]

Thanks purkey. The original complaint has many strands but essentially was a transfer to a sipp from a final salary scheme.

Every box ticked, advise sought, pension wise appointment done, all in agreement that it was the correct thing for me though absolutely is not the case for everyone. The scheme lied, delayed payment, were deliberately obstructive, took months to send me emails, didn't provide information requested, did not record complaints, breached fca regulations several times and didn't report it, failed to ask for an extension, ultimately paid me months late and underpaid by thousands of pounds, which they repeatedly denied, then lied about the reason it was wrong. I'd ended up having senior directors call me to try to rectify the position. From memory I think that was about it...

They eventually rectified the payment and offered £500 compensation. I turned it down and took it the ombudsman but I'd already referred the complaint before they rectified it.

Essentially I got the valuation and advice in March 2022. 3 other companies had accepted the advice and paid by June 2022. It was I think April 2023 before this scheme paid me.
